Vision Module Basics
The section has the following topics:
Accessing a record
To access the vision record for a patient click the Vision
button located on the top of any patient data screen.
Creating a new record
If no record exists for this patient you get the dialog below
asking
if you want to create a new record or just go to the database and look
around. A single records holds eyeglass information, contact lens
information and surgery information.
- If you
click Go you will navigate to the Vision
module but no record will be created.
- Clicking
Create starts a record for the current patient, and Cancel
is for the occasional mistakes.
If a record
already exists for the current patient, the record will be
displayed with no dialog. Below is
a completed Glasses record.
Module Functions
Let's review what each field or button does from top to bottom
- The
tabs across the top navigate to different parts of this patients vision
record.
- If you
need to find a vision record and you know the chart number click Find.
- To
print the current eye glass prescription click PrintRx.
- To
return to the patient's record click Return to Patient.
- The Patient
and Chart fields cannot be changed. The Current
Examiner
field selects which provider prescribed the current prescription. To
change the examiner just click in the field and make a new selection.
The provider's listed here are those personnel selected as a "Group" in
the PhoneBook
module.
- The
field Last Reviewed contains the date the prescription was last
reviewed
- Last
Changed is the date
the prescription was last changed.
Editing
Prescription appearance
You have the ability to change the printed appearance of your eyeglass
and
contact lens prescriptions. To do this click the Edit Rx button
at the lower left of the Glasses
screen. As discussed in the Forms Module, you edit layouts at your own risk.
When you click this button you get the warning below, If you do not
want to take the chance, click Cancel.
